M40s CLINCH USATF-NJ GRAND PRIX TEAM TITLE After too many races and too long of a USATF-NJ season, the M40s needed one more win to clinch the club's first-ever M40 USATF-NJ team title. Despite several top runners being unavailable, including Thom Knowles, Sam Teigen, Jason Gers, and Gabby Rodriguez, the masters crew flexed their muscles down at the Little Silver 5k, resulting in a huge win and a USATF-NJ association record for the fastest masters M40s 5k average: 16:47.
As they usually do, the Frieder brothers were the team's frontrunners, as Jonathan (16:21) ran away with the individual title, followed by twin Elliott (16:40) and Chuck Schneekloth (16:53). David Ferruggia cracked 17:00 for the first time in his career with a 16:59, while Shawn Williams (17:01) rounded out the crew's scoring top five. Joe Hegge (17:10) and Jason Timochko (17:13) were the squad's #6 and #7 men.
