MASTERS MEN WIN 8K ROAD NATIONAL TITLE
The masters 40s men won the USATF Masters 8k roads national title on Saturday, their second national win in a row, down at Virginia Beach. Like the USATF-NJ, this is a year-long, team-scored grand prix that pits the best masters teams in the country.
Sam Teigen and Jonathan Frieder were the team's 1-2 finish up front, respectively, running a sizzling 26:04 and 26:08. This was good enough for 5th and 6th overall.
Teammates Gary Leaman (28:23), Joe Hegge (28:33), and Chris Rinaldi (30:44) helped secure the squad's second team national title.
