OR, YOU CAN WIN ONE.

Here's how.

1.  Order a uniform through your team captain.  You received an email last week.

2.  Be a 2014 dues-paying member

At the end of August, we will announce the two winners.  The picture can be something like these, preferably stating where you ran, and how far.  Let's get psyched for the upcoming fall season!!!

Do you need your lawn cut?  Some interior work done?  Any form of landscape project needed?  Many do not know that our very own Kyle Price owns a landscaping/home improvement business called "Home Maniacs."

They do fantastic work, as they've already finished and begun numerous projects at 944 Hermann.  If you're interested in learning more, check out their Facebook page here.

Kyle is the current club record holder in the 3000m steeplechase.

Tyrone Ross has been an active club member since 2011, as he ran the third leg on the 4x400 that won the club national title in 2013.

In addition, Tyrone is a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, helping people manage all aspects of their financial lives.  You name it, he does it: 401k investment plans, new or refinanced mortgages, insurances, budgeting, and investing.

Kyle's Korner

Kyle's Korner is a segment of the Club's weekly email that will focus on reacquainting you with a different current club member each week. We will catch you up on how they are doing with regards to their training, their lives, and other general nonsense. This segment intends to be informative and educational while attempting humor in a purely inoffensive way. Mostly.

This week on Kyle's Korner we follow up last weeks interview of the North Enclave Captain by getting to know the South Enclave Captain, Angela Dunn, a little better. She getting herself involved in quite a bit more then just our club however.

Kyle: Hello Angela and thanks for joining us tonight!

Mrs. Dunn: Hello Kyle!

Kyle: Since we heard from the north side of the state last week I wanted to get some perspective from the south side this week since they're basically two different countries.

Mrs. Dunn: Well the south is definitely the better side of the state. We have better radio stations, less traffic, and I'm here!

Kyle:Whoa ho ho! Those be fighting words. You also have pork roll. Speaking of fighting, how is the GSTC dirty south looking in terms of brouhaha ranking?

Mrs. Dunn: I don't know what pork roll is....I stick to cheese omelettes at the diners. The south is stacked. We are ready to win!

Kyle: I feel like I've seen The South is Stacked on a t-shirt before. You don't partake in the great taylor ham/pork roll debate? Thats almost as big as the who owns the Statue of Liberty fiasco! And while we're on the subject of nationals icons, how was the looong drive with Adin The Milkman Mickle to the run/leadership meeting last week?

Mrs. Dunn: If that is on a t-shirt I need to get one! Where can I get one? I'm not sure what that debate is all about but the drive was very long. We were in the car for a little over 2 hours last Friday because of the North Jersey traffic. I'm just glad I didn't have to drive because I do not like going to New Brunswick at all. Adin is a very safe driver though.

Kyle: So no spilled milk then. Most of us in the New Brunswick area are accustomed to the Schneekloth Swerve whilst on road trips. How has your summer been going with regards to training and everyday life stuff?

Mrs. Dunn: My training is going really well. It hasn't gone this well since the summer of 2008. I have high hopes for the fall season! Aside from running life is good. I hang out with my cats a lot, I became a Sparkly Soul ambassador back in June so now I get to promote a product that I love, and I plan to go back to school in the fall to study sport psychology.

Kyle: That's great! Congratulations! Going back to school is a big endeavor but that would be a great line of work for an athlete! So what is a Sparkly Soul ambassador?

Mrs. Dunn: Well, I wear Sparkly Soul headbands all the time when I run. You may not have noticed them since you are a guy but these headbands do not slip off your head. Not at all. They don't budge. Sparkly Soul Inc. is a company that empowers women to find their strength and push themselves to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. As an ambassador I get to promote the product on social media and in the real world and help Sparkly Soul empower women on their journey to achieve their goals. You can check out the product at www.sparklysoul.com

Kyle: I'll admit I haven't noticed but now I'm glad I asked! That's awesome that you got that position for company you feel really strongly about. I'm sure a lot of our members will want to look into that. What are your plans for this fall?

Mrs. Dunn: I plan to PR in the half marathon, have a successful xc season and run fast! I also plan to wear the new colorful half tights I bought on sale this summer.

Kyle: That sounds like my kind of set of priorities! Well hey thats all the time we have this week. Thank you for speaking with us Angela and good luck with your training ambassadorship and degree!

Mrs. Dunn: Thanks Kyle! Have a good night!

Kyle: You as well! And all of you! Log on next week to see who we interview!

aGSTC TRIVIA TIME

Post-Sunday Team Run Brunch

Some of the ladies at Sunday's team run in Rosedale Park.  The guys refused a picture, so we snuck this one while no one was looking!

This weekend, we ventured to Rosedale Park, whereas the Princeton Enclave hosted the Sunday team run.  It was a fabulous run on many shaded trails.  However, only a small handful of Princeton Enclavers were even there!  More on that in the TMA.

After the run, the club tradition is to eat at a local diner; this week, we ate at the prestigious, five-star Princetonian Diner.  From left to right are Angela Dunn, Atilla Sabahoglu, Chelsea Callan, Cheyenne Ogletree, Ken Goglas, Erika Meling, Robyn Evangelist, and Mark Parisen.

While sitting down with our fellow teammates, one always learn a good deal about them, including how bad they often smell after a long run.  But no matter.  Trivia time!

1.  Who is buying a house at the end of this month?

2.  Who works over the summer as a manager of a water park?

3.  Who had to work at 4:00p hours after the long run as a waitress?

4.  Who works in the business office of Bed, Bath, and Beyond?

5.  Who just got hired sat the Princeton Running Company?

6.  Who works for Edison Public Schools as a data analyst?

7.  Who works at Gloucester Community College?

8.  Who works at Johnson and Johnson?

9.  Who ordered the healthiest brunch out of the group?

GOLD STAR

New aGSTC Member: Megan Vanaria

Megan used to dread going for a run when she first started running, but use to tell herself "you never feel worse after you finish a run" as  motivation She  does not dread going for a run now and  loves how great she feels when she is finished.  Running is a great physical and mental exercise for her as she uses it to relax, unwind, and clear her head. If you ask her what food she enjoys the most as runner her answer would be grilled salmon and chocolate chip cookies. She loves to spend time with her sister Devon because they are best friends and very similar. She can be herself around her and knows that no matter what they are doing, that it will be fun. If you don't see her running you can catch her shopping, catching the sun at the beach, going to concerts, hiking, watching tv/movies, and spending time with her family/friends.

FEATURED TEAM EVENT THIS WEEK: Sunday Run and Swimming Pool
We are so lucky to have an awesome place like the Manasquan Reservoir to do our team Sunday long runs.  It is a five mile loop on shaded, soft trails with beautiful nature abounding.  However, we are even LUCKIER to have Lauren Rome offer her pool and waffle iron for swimming + waffles post-run!  She will explain the details and directions to everyone after the 9:00am run.  Perhaps we should all bring a few bucks to pitch in...waffles for a few dozen people isn't cheap!

RACE RESULTS

Just to mix things up during this long summer training period, a bunch of GSTC'ers hopped in the Belmar Chase 5k this weekend.  Finishers included Tom Visicaro (16:54), Robert Marczydlo (17:29), Greta Sieve (17:32), Ken Walsh (18:35), Lauren Rome (19:38), Lauren Haynes (23:22), Erin LaCosta (24:24), and Erin Varga (25:18).

TMA: Totally Misunderstood Award

We traveled a llllllllll the way to Rosedale Park to join the "Original Bruhaha Champions", the Princeton Enclave.  But between "sleeping through alarms," "having the sniffles," and "being on vacation" (<------totally unacceptable during the summer), we throw a big TMA to the Princeton Enclave for their weak showing at their home turf run.

Quotes of the Week

"Hey I'm a realist.  I've been great and I've been abysmal, but I know I owe the club my effort.  You have stuck by me, and now it's my turn."  -Aaron Lucas, former club record holder in the high jump and long jump, via text.  The aGSTC won the 2013 national title without his valuable services (7-0 and 24-10 PRs), and he appears very motivated for the 2014-2015 season.

"Regardless of how busy or early of a work schedule you have, training before work is obtainable."  -Diana D'Achille, via FB.
