Pole vaulter Craig Van Leeuwen also had an impressive debut performance, as he cleared 16-10.75 to finish second in his event. Youssef Rochdi also added a silver medal in his event, the 5k, which he finished in 15:17.
The high hurdles, by far the club's best event this year, had two finish in the top five during the final: Jermaine Morris (3rd, 7.95) and Gerkenz Senesca (5th, 8.19). Senesca, the favorite to win the event, had won his preliminary heat in 8.04, but hit numerous hurdles during there final. The USA Indoor automatic qualifier is 7.92.
This weekend at Princeton's Tiger Invitational, aGSTC's Devon Hill will make his high hurdle season debut. Hill, a former ACC champ, has a faster PR than both of them.
Shene Davis had another strong meet, finishing 4th in both the women's triple jump (40-11) and long jump (19-00.75).
Twenty-five athletes competed for the black and gold, yet many couldn't due to work conflicts on the Friday afternoon and night conflict.

"Counter to most any medical logic: I had a sinus headache all day. Tried all things that I know alleviate this suffering. None worked. I started up the Fury to go fill the tank, took a little joy ride. Now I stink like old car exhaust...and my sinuses have opened up. Thus we conclude, 383ci and a 4bbl carburetor is damn good medicine!"
