I am looking for someone to fill our assistant coach position for our boys XC position this fall. For the past 8 years I have been lucky to coach alongside Jack Martin, who after 40 years in Westfield, is retiring at the end of the spring season. I am looking around the high school for someone who would be a good fit for our program, but there aren't many runners in the building, and those who do can't commit to the time. We're not even looking for a runner necessarily, just someone who will work well with the kids and is willing to learn about the sport.
We had 88 boys out for XC last fall - they're a great group of hard working kids but way more than I can handle on my own! We hold practice from 3:00-5:30ish every weekday, and we have practices and meets on Saturdays throughout the fall. You're welcome to do some/lots of the running with the kids if you like - it's a great way to get your work in.
